Please find the following info regarding Project Management Institute Chapter Jakarta 2002 Annual Report for your perusal.
1. Membership
The full member of PMI Chapter Jakarta as per DEP files at December 2002 is
84 members. The whole community includes member and non member are 347 from our first incorporation in 1997. Most of the member coming for professionals with the following industry specific: IT, Telecommunication, Construction, Oil & gas, Mining, & University.
As for comparation, the full member of PMI Chapter Jakarta as per DEP Files at December 2001 was 82 members.
2. Activities
Please be advised with the following attchment of Attendance Frequency of BOD members in their activities of 2002 program.
In general, the following highlights are presented as the following:
2.1. Chapter Open Meeting
- January 25, 2002 KickOff & Open Meeting regarding program of chapter. Attended by 47 members & non members, speaker: Rahayu S. Arifin, PMP held in Hotel Mulia Jakarta.
- April 10, 2002 Open Meeting, subject: Project Management in Telecomunication Industry: The Case of Aria West, presented by Stephen Dowling, attended by 48 members and non members, held in Klub Rasuna Jakarta.
- July 17, 2002 Open Meeting, subject: Project Management Center for Excellence for IT Industry: The Case of Multipolar, presented by Kris Moller, attended by 47 members and non members, held in Continental Hotel (Kempinsiki Hotel Plaza) Jakarta.
2.2 Chapter Networking & Marketing program
- Attended events held by IAMPI (Ikatan Ahli Manajemen Proyek Indonesia) at 25 March and National Seminar: Reaching The Future through Project Management at 26 June 2002.
- Meeting with Bapenas, ADB and World Bank at various locations and venue in Jakarta to introduce Project Management Institute and PMBOK Guide as standard reference. Have met with Directorate of Multilateral Foreign Financing - Bapenas, Senior Project Portfolio Manager - ADB Indonesi and Senior Procurement Specialist, The World Bank Jakarta.
- Attended APEC Construction management Services Forum in Bali. Extensive introduction to construction industry, LPJK representative, Ministry of Regional Infrastructure, other professional organization and University representatives from Semarang, Padang, Surabaya and Bandung. The forum was held in Bali, 27-28 March 2002.
- Participated at National Seminar and Launch of Microsoft MSP 2002 as Keynote Speaker and opening an exhibition booth. Held in Shangrila Hotel Jakarta, 9 July 2002.
- Conducted meeting with organization for sponsoring chapter activities includes Microsoft Indonesia, BP Indonesia
2.3 Chapter Free presentation for Educating Public Awareness
- In cooperation with AIESEC LC University Padjadjaran Bandung. The Chapter held a free presentation of Basic Principles of Project Management to 49 students of the Faculty Economy in realising its volunteers for the student / university society et large. Held at Kampus Unpad, Bandung in 3 November 2003.
2.4 Administration
- Completing Charter Renewal Survey 2002 with PMi Hq.
- Release Chapter Official Logo
- Establish new administration tools like: format of paper, seal and business cards.
- Establish a secretariat in Jakarta
- Completing the Establishment Deed as Chapter legalization process in Jakarta. The name of the organization is Institut Manajemen proyek Indonesia (IMPI).
- Processing the procedure to entitle the NPWP or Tax No.
2.5 Chapter BOD Meeting
8 BOD Meeting already commenced through out the year in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects and program in correspondence to the program of 2002. It includes with the tele conference with PMI Hq c.q. Becky Winston as PMI Chairman of BOD, Karen Alfonsi as acting Executive Director, Steve Townsend as Director of Global Integration & marketing, and Linn Wheeling as Manager of Component Affairs in July 11, 2002.
Accordingly, the chapter in requested to fulfill it's full administration process according to the PMI bylaws without any exemption. the chapter proposed for dues equalization and extending area of operation instead of Jakarta only. Up to now, the chapter already signed the charter agreement and submit its renewal report 2002 without any exemption. The proposal has been made and received by PMI BOD. Unfortunately, there is no positive result yet, as it become a pending issues within PMI Hq.
2.6 Cancelled Activities
- Open Meeting in October 2002, due to chapter lack of resources (time & speaker). Meanwhile the chapter officer decided to take more focus in presentation for the University includes preparing the 100 slides of presentation material as basic material to be given away in any similar occasion, presented by Chapter Officers.
- PMI Annual Leadership meeting and Symposium, 2 -10 October in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The major obstacle is due to 9/11, the visa application process has radically changed, from max. 2 weeks into almost 6 months period. We suppose to present our proposal to PMI BOD members. As the teleconfrence pretty much, what we want to say to PMI Hq, we regretly postpone the face to face presentation with PMI hq.
- National Seminar,
The Term of Reference has been set up and we have conducted 2 bid/selection meetings with potential event organizer. Unfortunately, the respons does not match with our requirement, the chapter officers due to its professional obligations does not have enough resources to execute the project without adequate resources.
3. Financial Status
Financial statement for year 2002 is available for members only. Balance Sheet for 2001

Total Expense : US$ 850
Balance Sheet per 31 December 2001: US$ 4,442
